The beautiful seaside town of Abersoch is now the setting for a monthly market, in which local artisans come to share what they have created.
The Maker’s Market in Abersoch is a monthly event which brings together some of the finest makers of food, drink, arts and crafts that the area has to offer. The event features carefully selected specialists who tastefully source, grow, bake, rear, make, build and create the fantastic products that they sell. This ensures original, quality and uniqueness to the products, giving the market an air of personality and genuineness.
What makes the market truly exceptional is the food aspect. Only the crème of the local crop is selected. Ranges of farm produce, breads, delicatessen and expertly crafted cheeses all produced by people who take their art so seriously with a passion. You get to meet and deal with these specialists and when you do, you are sure to share one or two passions by the end of the day.
In May, the first Abersoch Makers Market took place. Thousands of people flocked to the event and it was a massive success! All kinds of people came from all over to share an interest and appreciation for locally sourced, expertly crafted goods. There’s also live music all performed by brilliantly talented locals. The event has a bustling, picturesque atmosphere which visitors are overjoyed to be a part of.
Each date features more than forty specifically chosen artisans who are loyal to good craft, as well as community projects, live music, dance and activities for all!
This fantastic event is definitely worth a visit, a great excuse to enjoy the welsh sunshine. If you aren’t local to the area, there’s plenty of accommodation in the area available so you can make a real adventure out of it and see some of the other treasures that north wales has to offer.
This year the festival is running Saturdays 1st of June, 6th of July, 3rd of August, and 7th September at The Riverside Marquee, Abersoch Village.
