We’re looking eagerly forward to the Beaumaris Festival here at Beautiful North Wales and you can’t blame us when you consider the fantastic line-up of acts and activities taking place!

Due to start from the 22nd of May, the festival will run for a whole week through until the 29th of May with the whole town set to come to life during the special occasion. There’s no denying that 2014’s festival might be the strongest one since it started way back in 1986.

The festival was originally started by an entrepreneur by the name of Anthony Hose who was well known on the festival scene for his work on the Buxton Festival. Instantly taken by the beauty of the town, Hose decided that it was the perfect location for an arts festival and so the annual Beaumaris Festival was born.

In modern times, there’s a real community spirit obvious throughout the whole occasion which is evidenced by all the great local acts, of many different ages and backgrounds, all taking to the stage. There’s bound to be something to entertain everyone! The tagline for this year’s festival is ‘The world comes to Beaumaris’ and you’d be inclined to agree as there’s a vast selection of intercontinental musicians, poets and authors who will all be showcasing their talents in many venues across the town.

There’s more than just music to whet your appetite at this year’s edition of the Beaumaris Festival as you can also enjoy sublime fine art, crafts and talks from experts in the arts. There’s also due to be many great competitions between artists of all different styles so if you want to watch a thrilling but still friendly series of contests between real local talent, there’s only one place for you be for the rest of May.

Festival stalwarts Welsh Chamber Orchestra will also be making an eagerly awaited return and will be accompanied by the hugely-talented Martin James Bartlett: winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year.

21 acts in total are set to entertain the crowds over the 7 days and are sure to put on a great show for all.
