North Wales, without a doubt, has some of the most thrilling mountain biking trails in the UK. You can choose from one of the dedicated centres, or go for a natural off-road track – there are options to suit everyone.

The best thing is, with apartments North Wales for sale, you could be living closer to the best locations for your mountain biking. Read on to find out which trails are worth visiting in the area:

One Planet – Coed Llandegla

Oneplanet is one of the UK’s leading mountain biking centres in North Wales. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, there will be something to keep you on your toes.

Take your riding to the next level with one of their skills courses, or take your bike for a spin on one of their many marked trails.

If there is someone in the group who isn’t a fan of biking, there are alternative activities for them to enjoy; such as walking routes around the forest or the trail running routes. There is also a cafe and a shop for when you need a break. All in all its the perfect location for a family day out – and you can bring dogs too!

Coed y Brenin Forest Park & Visitor Centre

Coed y Brenin forest is the home to an increasing amount of hand-built tracks. It was the first forest to be developed for the sport – and retains its reputation to this day. When adventuring here, you’ll not only be able to enjoy the beauty of the forest, but also the stunning scenery of Snowdonia, and more specifically Cadair Idris.

The tracks are labelled as Green, Blue, Red and Black for levels of riding, beginner to intermediate. You can find routes for the little ones, or something more technical if you’ve been riding for years.

The visitor centre in the forest can provide you with refreshments; a spot of lunch or a snack to get you refuelled and back into the fun!

Penmachno Trails in Betws y Coed

The Penmachno trails are simply a set of riding trails – no fancy visitor centre or cafe. They are managed by the local mountain biking community group Menter Bro Machno, and sometimes, the simpler the better.

They really are a hidden gem – 30km of singletrack trails nestled within Snowdonia. These are split into two loops, which can be tackled as two rides or one huge circuit.

Once you’ve completed your ride, you can donate via one of the donation boxes at the Conwy Falls Cafe or visit their website to explore more options.
