Set in the rural village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, Snowdonia, Y Felin is located half way between Harlech and Barmouth on the Cambrian coast road. Accessing the house is via a short grassy driveway which leads to a wonderful private garden. Slate stepping stones lead to this beautiful 17th century asymmetrical stone cottage.
Once inside the house you will come across lovely slate flooring, which has under floor heating. The cottage has a mixture of modern features including a washing machine, dishwasher, TV and DVD and also some gorgeous traditional features that include ledged and braced doors and exposed beams.
The lounge area is extremely cosy complete with obligatory inglenook or ‘simne fawr’ with cast iron log burner, just perfect for those romantic evenings on the couch. The modern upstairs bathroom has a bath and power shower with lovely views of the lush fields and cattle.
Both bedrooms are nicely furnished and all linen is provided. The bedrooms have window seats which overlook the stunning coastline.
At the front of the house you will find some old barns and stone walls which provide a secluded courtyard type garden. The cottage is surrounded by a 4 acre lush green field.
Getting out and about is not a problem, with a bust stop just up the road and the train station about half a mile away. There are two local pubs within walking distance.
Dyffryn Ardudwy is a lovely village complete with small grocery store, butchers, post office and garage. The wonderful historic town of Harlech is just a 10 minute drive to the North, and the seaside resort of Barmouth is 10 minutes to the South.
The wonderful and stunning mountain range of Moelfre and Rhinog is located behind and the beach is to the front.
There are numerous activities to do in and around the area including Harlech castle, 18 hole links golf course, pony trekking and a nearby market town.
