Self Catering Cottage – Sleeps 1 to 4/5 in 2 bedrooms (max recommended 4 adults)


Riverbank Cottage is one of a row of traditional longhouse cottages situated on the edge of the small village of Capel Curig in a quiet, secluded spot.

The cottage has an open plan kitchen / lounge / diner comprising a fully equipped kitchen, seating area with freeview TV & DVD player with a selection of games, books and puzzles for all ages and a living area with inglenook fireplace & multifuel stove.

There is a modern shower room with W/C, basin & double shower cubicle. Two bedrooms : Bedroom 1 - double bed with draped four poster. Bedroom 2 - triple bunk (small double on bottom, single on top).

The garden runs down to the river with garden furniture for fabulous evenings relaxing or paddling in the stream with fantastic views. Off road parking for one vehicle is available at the cottage. (Parking for additional vehicles in free public car park 60yds walk away).

The cottage has gas fired central heating throughout. Well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. All bed linen is provided. Towels can be provided at small additional charge.

Capel Curig is in the heart of Snowdonia's mountains and hills. The village has 3 pubs all within easy walking distance from the cottage, all of which serve food. There are several cafes offering daylong refreshments. The Welsh National Mountain centre, Plas-y-Brenin (5 minutes walk from the cottage) has many sporting facilities. It also has a public bar which serves bar meals and has free wireless internet for visitors. On the doorstep there is a local shop with a cafe as well as 3 specialist outdoor shops

The area is perfect for walkers and climbers with Snowdonia's 14 three thousand foot peaks all within easy reach for enthusiasts, but with plenty of gentler, lower level walks to suit the less energetic with footpaths galore from the cottage into the surrounding hills and valleys.

Capel Curig is surrounded by the villages of Betws-y-coed, Beddgelert and Llanberis. Within a short drive are the popular coastal tourist resorts of Conwy, Porthmadog and Llandudno with their beaches, rich history and tourist attractions. Betws-y-coed just a few miles away offers a wide selection of hotels, bars and restaurants being the largest inland tourist resort in Wales. This all provides arguably the best location from which to explore Snowdonia.
