A superb modern detached property with fine views towards Snowdonia offering contemporary style accommodation. Ty Bryn is set within the village and is equal distance from Bangor and Caernarfon. Llanberis is a few miles away and this property is an ideal base from which you can enjoy the surrounding countryside.
Ty Bryn has a spacious hall with 3 ground floor bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) One of the double rooms has a stylish ensuite shower room. There is also a luxury bathroom, cloaks and utility room on this level.
The first floor accommodation has the most extensive views of Snowdonia. There is a spacious open plan lounge with a dining area. The fully fitted kitchen has everything you need to make your stay at Ty Bryn a delightful one.
This property is very close to the town of Llanberis being one of the main bases for walking within the Snowdonia National Park. Snowdonia is the English name for Eryri which in Welsh means ‘the place of the eagles’. Llanberis is a stunning location just northeast of Snowdon, surrounded by mountains and fringed by two lakes, it is the start of the Snowdon Mountain Railway which runs five miles to the mountain's summit.
Over the last 100 years Llanberis and the Llanberis Pass has become a mountaineering centre of international significance. The cliff-faces of the beautiful Llanberis Pass are used as a training ground for Everest. The Pen y Gwryd hotel was a training base for the Everest expedition of 1953 which made the first ascent of the worlds highest mountain. All expedition members signed their signatures on the bar ceiling (now covered by glass).
The Vaynol pub in Nant Peris also features photographs and displays commemorating the enthusiasts who made Llanberis and the ‘Pass’ famous as a cradle of hard rock climbing and climbers who have made their mark world wide.
Llanberis was the centre of the world’s greatest slate quarrying enterprise, the great and spectacular quarries and mines last worked 40 years ago are a unique element of the landscape, an evocative piece of industrial archaeology.
The world’s greatest slate quarrying enterprise employed more than 3000 men. It now houses the Welsh Slate Museum in the old Victorian workshops and the old Quarry Hospital Museum with its wall containing drawings engraved by the patients who stayed at the hospital when the quarry was in use.
You can take a 40 minute trip along the lake’s shores on the Llanberis Lake Railway which runs along a stretch of line once used to transport the slate to the coast or take a boat trip on the lake.
A visit to Electric Mountain offers an opportunity to descend deep inside the ancient Elidir mountains’ labyrinth of dark imposing tunnels where you will experience one of man’s great engineering achievements contained within the largest man-made chamber.
On a hill a mile from the village are the remains of an iron age hill fort dating back to 500 BC and on a rocky knoll going towards Nant Peris is the Dolbadarn Castle built before 1230 AD by the Welsh prince, Llewellyn the Great.
