Cable Cottage is in a truly amazing location, with panoramic sea views and direct access from the house on to the beach, this is a fantastic holiday home.

In the middle of a secluded bay, the Welsh stone cottage is right on the edge of the beach at Cable Bay (Porth Crugmor) near the larger Church Bay on the west coast of Anglesey. Situated a few paces from the beach the cottage has outstanding views out to sea.

Cable Cottage, recently refurbished, has spacious accommodation just right for two families whilst being equally cosy and comfortable for a couple or small family. The house is full of character reflecting its colourful history with its thick stonewalls and nautical features. This building was originally constructed in 1871 as a telecommunications station for the under-sea cable to Ireland and retains many nautical features including a ship’s staircase, doors and wood panelling which are believed to come from the RMS Mauretania.

You can sit in the large garden with your glass of wine and watch the boats on the horizon, body board in the surf or take a pleasant walk admiring the coastal views. You can then watch the sun come down from the convenience of your own patio.

Property description:-

Ground floor

Kitchen/dining room

The well-equipped spacious kitchen is illuminated by three arched windows with views of the surrounding countryside. Recent refurbishment has created a large homely kitchen area with a granite worktop and Rayburn cooker adding to the cosy, welcoming feel as well as the inclusion of modern facilities that do not compromise the properties character, including an induction hob, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, freezer, two fridges, and washing machine. A large dining table with eight dining chairs provides spacious seating for everyone to enjoy a very sociable atmosphere.

The panelled lounge has three comfortable fabric sofas: two three-seaters and a two-seater. There is a large pine coffee table and a small pine side table which complement the natural pine flooring. A log burner is set in an attractive period fire surround. The windows offer fine views of the beach and sea. There is a 32in TV – and plenty of books and DVDs can be found on the shelves. This impressive room is a great place to relax and enjoy the sea views and magical evening sunsets.

Reading room

The small reading room next to the lounge is the perfect spot in the cottage to sit down and relax. The small sitting area has a table, two chairs and a variety of books on the book shelf, perfect for a quiet moment, enjoying a glass of wine and your favourite book.

Bedroom 1

This ground floor bedroom enjoys lovely views over the garden and contains a king size double bed, a pedestal sink unit, a chest of drawers and a bed side table.

Bedroom 2

The downstairs bathroom contains a bath with a shower over the bath, a washbasin and a drawer unit. There are attractive views of the surrounding countryside through the large windows which can be screened by shutters. Towels are provided. However please bring your own beach towels.

Shower room

A shower room is situated between bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 on the ground floor, and contains an enclosed walk-in shower, toilet and hand basin.

Wet room

There is a fully tiled wet room with shower opposite the downstairs bathroom and adjacent to the kitchen, perfect to rinse out the sandy toes after the day spent at the Cable beach.

The double bedroom is accessed through the twin bedroom in the Crog Loft. These first floor rooms are recommended only for agile adults and older children under adult supervision, given the steepness of the access stairs.

32 inch LCD TV, DVD player with a selection of DVD’s, Freesat, a selection of books, Mobile phone signal at Cable Cottage cannot be guaranteed.

There is plenty of off road parking in the private parking area close to the house. There is a lovely large sheltered garden with outdoor table and seating and at the front of the house is a grassed patio area with stunning views over the beach and out to sea.

Local Area

Church Bay [Porth Swtan] is the adjacent cove with a wonderful, golden beach. Here you will find the ´Swtan´- the oldest fully restored cottage on the island - and The National Trust heritage coastline boasts mile after mile of uninterrupted walks along the coastal path. Also at Church Bay is the locally renowned ´Lobster Pot´ restaurant and ‘Wavecrest’ coffee shop at the end of the coastal path with its speciality cream teas as well as many other home made delicacies. This area is excellent for all water sports, cycling on the local and national networks, fishing at Llyn Alaw, walking the Anglesey Coastal Path or just quiet reflection.

Cemlyn Nature Reserve is a short distance to the north and the nearby Jam Factory offers an interesting selection of luxury preserves for tasting in the Tea Shop. Cemaes Bay, a traditional seaside resort and fishing village, is further along the A5025.

The Cable is a most romantic cottage situated right on the beach at Cable Bay (Porth Crugmor). It is a perfect getaway at any time of the year with the most wonderful views out to sea.

Visitor review

Strongly recommend you visit this unspoilt gem – we cannot wait to return as this is certainly a five star cottage.

´Cable Cottage has recently been renovated by the new owners and is situated in an idyllic location close to the beach with wonderful views out of all the windows. The interior of the cottage is light and cheery and all the furnishings co-ordinate beautifully. The whole cottage is very clean and immaculately kept with very comfortable beds and bedlinen, lovely fluffy towels with two bathrooms and a wet room. It has excellent central heating and was always lovely and warm. We loved relaxing in the cosy sitting room with a log burning fire and looking out of the window at the sea.´
