The Mill at MaenanThe Old Mill, Maenan

This charming apartment, with loads of character, is part of a sympathetically converted 18th Century watermill, situated beside a wooded hill and stream.
Located in the beautiful Conway Valley, This is the perfect rural retreat for two. On the doorstep are acres of woodland to roam through, a mass of bluebells in May, wood anenomies later. One path leads to a rocky crag, a local beauty spot known as Cadair Ifan Goch, Red Ifans Chair, named after the giant who used to sit there and wash his hands in the river Conway. From this viewpoint the whole valley is laid out below.
Because of its location, the Mill is also a great place for your four-legged family members. (Up to two medium-ish perfectly behaved ones would be fine - anything other may be negotiable!).

The Mill at Maenan The Accommodation

Charming, cosy, romantic Conway Valley Accommodation, sleeps two.
The apartment is the ground floor of the watermill.

The Kitchen

Walk through the stable door into the cottage style beamed kitchen, to find afternoon tea awaiting you.
A freshly baked loaf-white, wholemeal or half and half, whichever your preference, made with Welsh organic flour, Welsh butter and a truckle of locally produced cheese, home-made chutney and jam and a plate of bara brith. Tea and coffee (with cafetiere), and milk in the fridge (Welsh, of course!)
The kitchen/breakfast room is fully equipped with a dishwasher, freezer, fridge, microwave, washing machine, etc. There is a constant supply of hot water.

The Bedroom

Cosy bedroom with inviting king-size bed. Slip between the softest of Egyptian cotton sheets, lie back on luxurious goose feather pillows, snuggle under the duvet, relax and enjoy

The Bathroom

As close as you can get without being en-suite!
A quaint bathroom with a shower over bath, handbasin and W.C., of course. There’s plenty of hot water, a good supply of soft fluffy white towels, and bathrobes to chill out in.

The Lounge

The lounge/ dining room is spacious and full of character, with beams and lots of wooden bits!
There is an open fire-logs, coal and the necessaries are supplied for cooler evenings. The television has DVD player and VCR Programmes can be rather limited as we’re out of range of Sky and digital - but who wants to watch telly, anyway? French windows open onto the garden.

Outside

A secluded walled garden for your exclusive use. There is a bar-b-que,(initial fuel supplied),a table and chairs for dining al-fresco, also a garden swing, where you can sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun setting and the bats flying.

Maenan is well placed for exploring North Wales. The world famous Bodnant Gardens is only 5 miles away, picturesque Betws-y-Coed, the gateway to Snowdonia is 7 miles. Serious walking and climbing territory are within easy reach, if you’re keen. Victorian Llandudno, with excellent shops, new theatre, beaches, golf courses and dry ski slope is 12 miles away. Conwy is just down the road with its magnificent castle and National Trust houses.
The Isle of Anglesey with its lovely beaches, and historic Chester are within easy driving distance, as is Holyhead, if you fancy a day trip to Dublin. There are very good restaurants and pubs close by.
