Recent Developments!
Inigo Jones has recently invested 1/4million pounds to improve its attraction and there is now also a new entrance off a roundabout, as a result of the recently completed Penygroes/Llanllyfni bypass. There is plenty of free parking in the new car park.
- New showroom and video room - "The World of Stone"
The new showroom is designed to show slate products in a modern setting and this is done by using natural wooden flooring in conjunction with natural slate flooring. Lighting is well used to highlight slate and other craft products on display. The products sold by the company have a welsh and celtic theme.
Slate and granite worktops are on show, as well as slate fireplaces, in a setting that reveals the true level of craftsmanship. There is now also a new display section for trophies.
Outside the showroom there is a display of landscape products such as sundials, bid baths, chippings, rockery stone and water features.
- Welsh Rock Café
An old workshop has been converted to a new 70 seater café. This is a themed café giving the history of welsh music from its early beginnings to modern day.
- Improved Self Guided Tour
The tour of the works now incorporates a new introductory video presentation in the showroom. The audio taped commentary has been upgraded and there is a new exhibition on the geology and formation of different types of rock. There is also an opportunity to have a go at calligraphy and engraving on a small piece of slate that you get to keep as a souveneir. Children can also compete in our quiz to win a slate prize. In a new craft workshop you can now see a range of craft products being prefabricated and assembled.
